A brand-new patch has just been announced to improve some troublesome features.
Temtem Patch Notes 0.5.10
This patch adds fixes to the Crystal Skates, an item you acquire by working your way through the story mode that allows you to stake over crystal surfaces. Players will now be able to find the Four-leaf clover without the skates, which is amazing for those looking for the item that helps raise the capture rates on untamed Temtem. The skates are a controversial topic in the game’s community since players lose access to them at a certain point in the campaign. That means you can’t glide around near Anak Volcano and catch those Temtem. This patch intends to change that, though the memes may never die.
The patch is fairly small but the fact that these quality-of-life improvements arrived quickly and without any game-breaking bugs is a testement to the success of the title. Many speculated that Temtem could be the “Pokemon killer” and become the must-play MMO for those with a monster-catching plan. The game hasn’t been a massive hit, with an average of 25,000 players in its first week according to Steam Charts. Still, for an indie game released on Humble Bundle, Temtem seems to be growing just fine.
As the game develops and more creatures and features get added, so to will the potential for Temtem. Right now, the game feels a little repetitive and frustrating, but that may be a side-effect of the genre. If you are looking to collect a new breed of beasts and evolve them into stronger forms, this game is a must-try. If grinding and fighting the same battles for experience over and over seems like a nightmare, then Temtem isn’t worth the trouble.
Temtem might not be ready to take on Pikachu just yet, but in a few years trainers might be feeling a little more open to the idea.
